Beendet: Ausschreibung Artist in Residence 2026 – Stiftung Kloster Dornach_01.09.2025
Seit 2019 bietet die Stiftung Kloster Dornach im ehemaligen Kapuzinerkloster einen besonderen Rückzugs- und Arbeitsort für Kunst-, Kulturschaffende und Geisteswissenschaftler*innen. Auch 2026 laden wir im klösterlichen Geist von ora et labora zu einer schöpferischen Auszeit sowie zur aktiven Mitarbeit im Klostergarten (ca. 1h/Tag) ein.
Zur Verfügung stehen Innen- und Außenräume wie Kreuzgang, Klosterkirche, Innerer Chor, Klostergarten, Klosterkeller, Bibliothek, Refektorium sowie ein Hotelzimmer zur künstlerischen Gestaltung. Die Aufenthaltsdauer wird individuell festgelegt (2–4 Wochen, am Stück oder über das Jahr verteilt, Jan.–Nov. 2026). Geboten wird ein Einzelzimmer mit Halbpension, Schreibtisch und Blick in den Klostergarten; für Proben u.a. ein Flügel in der Kirche, ein Klavier im Inneren Chor sowie der Bereich Little Wilderness mit Schopf und Aussenplatz im Klostergarten.
Gesucht sind ortsspezifische Projekte, die sich vertieft mit dem Klostergarten und dem ehemaligen Kapuzinerkloster befassen. Inspiration bieten unsere permanenten Ausstellungswände zu den Themen «Klostergarten» und «Klostergeschichten» sowie drei Publikationen. Ergebnisse werden in Form von Pop-up-Ausstellungen, Performances, Konzerten, Lesungen u. a. öffentlich vermittelt. Größere Projekte können Teil unserer Jahresausstellung (Juni–Nov. 2026) oder einer Klosterzelle-Gestaltung werden. Bewerbungen mit biografischem Bezug zu den Kantonen Solothurn und Basel-Landschaft werden bevorzugt.

Artist in Residence 2026 – Dornach Monastery Foundation_01.09.2025
Since 2019, the Dornach Monastery Foundation has been offering a special retreat and working space for artists, cultural professionals, and humanities scholars in the former Capuchin monastery. In 2026, we are once again inviting you to take a creative break and actively participate in the monastery garden (approx. 1 hour/day) in the monastic spirit of ora et labora.
Indoor and outdoor spaces such as the cloister, monastery church, inner choir, monastery garden, monastery cellar, library, refectory, and a hotel room are available for artistic use. The length of stay is determined individually (2–4 weeks, either consecutively or spread out over the year, Jan.–Nov. 2026). A single room with half board, a desk, and a view of the monastery garden is provided; for rehearsals, there is a grand piano in the church, a piano in the inner choir, and the Little Wilderness area with a shed and outdoor space in the monastery garden.
We are looking for site-specific projects that deal in depth with the monastery garden and the former Capuchin monastery. Inspiration can be found in our permanent exhibition walls on the themes of “Monastery Garden” and “Monastery Stories” as well as in three publications.

Larger projects can become part of our annual exhibition (June–November 2026) or a monastery cell design. Applications with a biographical connection to the cantons of Solothurn and Basel-Landschaft will be given preference.
